Close up view with the Inspector Red Head Camera
What is Macro Imaging?

One outstanding feature of the Inspector camera with the R.A.F. (remote adjustable focus) option, is the ability to do ‘macro photography’. For those who are not familiar with the terminology, ‘macro photography’ is magnified images of typically a small object. With The Inspector R.A.F, you can focus from infinity to a fraction of an inch from an object and still remain in perfect focus.

Once you’ve inserted your Inspector camera into the area being inspected, you should adjust your focus setting. Slowly adjust your R.A.F. until the picture starts to blur. When it reaches the blur point, zoom out slightly until the picture regains it’s clarity. And welcome, because you have now entered the realm of Macro Imaging! As you continue your journey into the depth of a heat exchanger you will be able to adjust your R.A.F. to correspond to the changing depths of field. You will be amazed at how much you can magnify an object. When you come across cracks in heat exchangers, they will now appear so large, you will not merely see them – you can explore them!

Want to demonstrate the infrared ability of the R.A.F. in a fun way in the presence of your customer? Aim the Inspector camera into any TV remote control unit and push the buttons of the remote. It’s a fun ice breaker for you and your customer and a visual light show for your eyes!

The Inspector R.A.F. (remote adjustable focus) OPTION

The R.A.F. option can be added to any Model 400 (RedHead) Inspector camera. This means you can order it as an option on any ‘new’ Inspector camera or you can send in any of your existing Model 400 (RedHead) Inspector cameras to have this remarkable option installed.
